1 Jamie Hayon
The Spanish designer is returning to Ventura Lambrate this year to show off his bent-wood furniture pieces and gold-coated ceramic creatures. He is also launching new pieces for Magis (Corso Garibaldi 77).

2 Nynke Tynagel and Job Smeets of Studio Job
It has been a busy year for the Dutch-Belgian duo, with four manufacturers rolling out new Studio Job wares, including Gufram (hall 16) and Nodus. Moooi is also returning to Milan with another iteration of its wildly successful Unexpected Welcome exhibit (via Savona 56), and Studio Job is part of its latest collection. Tynagel and Smeets will also be on hand to launch a new wallpaper for NLXL called Archive (shown above). The William Morris-esque pattern is based on their inventory of folk imagery (via Savona 35).

3 Nika Zupanc
Milan’s design doyenne Rossana Orlandi has been championing Nika Zupanc for years now, and it’s nice to see there will be more chances to see her distinctly feminine aesthetic. At Spazio Rossana Orlandi (via Matteo Bandello 14), British manufacturer is launching its third collection, created by Zupanc; and Orlandi herself has curated some smaller objects by the Ljubljana-born designer, including the Infinity clock shown above, within a group exhibit being held at the Museo Bagati i Valsecchi (via Gesù 5). New pieces will also be part of Moooi’s Unexpected Welcome show in Zona Tortona.

4 Lee Broom
The British designer, who recently opened his own store in London’s East End, is returning to Milan with a line of elegant stemware made from lead crystal and Carrara marble. Broom is making the glasses, both wine and champagne, available to purchase by setting up a pop-up store at Spazio Rossana Orlandi (via Matteo Bandello 14).

5 Maarten Baas
This will be the first solo show in years for Maarten Baas, which he has titled, appropriately, Baas is in Town. The Dutch designer, who rose to fame by charring furniture to a crispy blackness and sculpting chairs out of industrial clay, has teamed up with the organizers of Ventura Lambrate to mastermind an installation at a satellite location in the city centre called 5VIE, a newly designated cultural district at via Zecca Vecchia 3.

6 Marcio Kogan of MK27
Hall 9 at Salone del Mobile is the location of an intriguing intimate exhibition, Where Architects Live, which centres around the domestic interiors of nine eminent designers, including Mario Bellini, Zaha Hadid, David Chipperfield, Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas, and Brazil’s Marcio Kogan of MK27, who shares a large portion of his space with a grand piano. Curated by Francesca Molteni, the show will also feature interviews recorded with each resident.

7 Martino Gamper
Serpentine Galleries of London is collaborating with Martino Gamper on an exhibition within La Rinascente’s storefront windows at Piazza del Duomo 3 of objects that the artist/designer has repaired. Titled In A State of Repair, the exhibit is also part performance. Each window will contain broken objects – from shoes to books to electronics – and during the run of the show, each object will be repaired. The designer sees his installation as a way of allowing consumers to witness the highly skilled process of fixing things, a quickly disappearing trade.

8 Hella Jongerius
The Dutch designer was recently appointed Design Director of Danskina and her inaugural launch under the new title will be a collection of four floor coverings, including one that uniquely combines cork and felt. At Salone del Mobile, hall 16.

9 Daniel Libeskind
While the famed architect has designed furniture in the past, this year he is coming out with 12 new items that range from an entire kitchen by Poliform/Varenna (at EuroCucina) and a crystal chandelier for Lasvit, to a Jacuzzi tub and a range of furniture for Poliform, including the shard-like bookcase pictured above. Also on the bill: a new Artemide lamp, office lighting for iGuzzini and a glass writing table for Fiam of Italy.
