  • Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada
  • Salary: $20.00 / hour
  • 1 Vacancy
  • Full time: 37.5 hours / week
  • Start date: As soon as possible

Education: A college diploma in interior design is required. A university degree in interior design is as an asset

Experience: 1-2 years

Specific Skills

  • Assist Senior and Intermediate Designers in both the creative, planning and technical processes
  • Develop detailed plans and 3-D models showing arrangement of walls, dividers, displays, lighting and other fixtures using computer-assisted design (CAD) software and graphics software
  • High level of proficiency in AutoCad, MS Office, MS Excel is mandatory
  • Experience in SketchUp, Revit and / or other 3D applications is desirable
  • Prepare contract documents, including working drawings, millwork and tender drawings and specifications, schedules and details, plans, elevations, cross sections and detailed drawings, and advise on selection of colours, finishes and materials, floor and wall coverings, window treatments, interior and exterior lighting, furniture and other items, taking into account ergonomic and occupational health standards
  • Consult with clients to determine needs, preferences, safety requirements and purpose of space
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, trades and suppliers
  • Estimate costs and materials required and may advise on leasing, real estate and marketing
  • Knowledge of furniture systems, specifications, finishes and materials would be an asset
  • Coordinate, manage and oversee construction activities
  • It is a requirement to visit project sites within British Columbia as required and to work on location at client facilities’ departments for defined periods of time.
