Douglas Design Studio are seeking to hire an enthusiastic Intermediate Interior Designer to join their team as soon as possible.

Based in downtown Toronto, Douglas Design Studio is an award-winning interior design and decorating studio who integrates beauty with architecture that focuses on creating interiors that perfectly express the homeowner’s own style.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability and sensitivity to work on high-end projects from inception through completion, understanding the demands of a luxury Client and high level of detail expected at this level of construction
  • Preparation of full document set from preliminary presentations through construction drawings and specifications
  • Active collaboration with internal and external team members
  • Ability to represent themselves and the studio in a highly-professional manner

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-yrs experience working on full-scope residential design
  • Undergraduate degree in interior design or architecture from a recognized program
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD, 3D applications, Excel and other applicable software
  • Hand-sketching is important in the firm’s process, so expect a level of confidence expressing ideas with pen and paper
  • Comfortable and professional in a Client-facing role
  • High level of detail and organization in work
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, while assisting junior staff
  • Positive outlook, proactive, team-oriented
  • NCIDQ qualified preferred, or working towards qualification; involvement with industry events
  • LEED® qualification considered a plus
