Lighting Design is a strategic initiative within Circa Lighting allowing us to engage our customers in a more meaningful way, especially within the architectural lighting category. As a Lighting Designer, you will assist clients, the Business Development team, and other sales staff in layout and specification of architectural and decorative lighting to drive sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate, efficient, and creative residential lighting plans within AutoCAD utilizing the Visual Comfort & Co brand products
  • Execute lighting design plans within Circa Lighting standards, ensuring consistency and quality of work both in design and deliverables
  • Participate in product presentations to Builders, Designers and Architects. 
  • Utilize product knowledge and lighting design skill to collaborate with Business Development and showrooms across all markets to convert new and develop existing Circa Lighting customers
  • Be an available resource to Circa Lighting team members seeking product knowledge and technical expertise
  • Meet/exceed architectural lighting sales goals through lighting design efforts
  • Minimize returns through customer assistance, thoughtful selections, and excellent follow-up with vendors and customers
  • Travel for project design meetings and site visits in the showroom trade area markets 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior design, Lighting Design, Engineering and/or Architecture required
  • 5+ years of project lighting design experience required
  • Experience must include creation of lighting plans, lighting schedules, and lighting specifications
  • Architectural lighting product knowledge
  • Ability to clearly articulate design and technical information to clients and internal teams
  • Proficient computer skills utilizing AutoCad, DIALux and similar systems
  • Sales experience not required, but an advantage
  • Critical thinking: ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in fast-paced environment
  • Keen eye for design and creativity
  • Ability to achieve results both independently and through collaboration
