Tatar Art Projects a full service international hospitality and public art consulting firm. We work directly with developers, architects, landscape architects, interior designers, artists, manufacturers, fabricators, and engineers etc., developing comprehensive art programs for both interior and public spaces. These include everything from hotels, retail spaces, institutions, mixed use developments to managing public art requirements under Section 37 of Toronto’s public art policy.
We seek a dynamic person who will build on the company’s solid foundation and reputation while continuing to add to the firm’s strengths. The successful applicant will be expected to have extensive experience in Project Management with some knowledge of bookkeeping software (QuickBooks, FreshBooks, and BaseCamp) in a similar field — maintaining project schedules, client contact, invoicing and managing projects that can be as short as a few months- to as long as a few years ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met. You have an eye for detail and an ability to juggle ten tasks at once without dropping a ball and anticipate headwinds with solutions without being rattled. You will deal directly with clients and suppliers ensuring billing, P.O.s and invoices are completed as required. You are friendly, courteous and maintain the highest level of professionalism. You possess a good sense of humor. You have an eye for art and design and have a proficiency in design suites (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator).
Successful Applicant will possess the following skills:
+2 years of Project Management and/or Supply Chain Management experience – Highly proficient administrative skills, client relations, project management, scheduling, generating quotes and invoicing clients, issuing P.O.s, generating and managing Gantt charts, with ability to multi-task. Microsoft Project an asset;
Research – sourcing art for projects and art opportunities;
Computer skills – Proficient in a PC based platform, Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe CS6: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (essential);
You will be required to put together art packages and render artwork into existing spaces for presentations with Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign;
Generating quotes, pricing and invoicing using QuickBooks. Familiarity with FreshBooks and BaseCamp an asset;
Thinking on your feet and outside the box and unafraid to suggest new systems and procedures that increase efficiency with an ability to work both independently and minimal supervision;
Excellent oral and written skills.
The following will be considered assets:
A willingness to learn other software. Familiarity with SketchUp and AutoCAD.
Knowledge of and interest in the Toronto/Global art, design and architecture community. Even more desirable would be someone who actively participates in the “gallery scene” and is current on regional, provincial and international art trends, artists, galleries, museums and art fairs;
Confidence. You are a people person and interacting with clients, suppliers and networking comes quite easily to you. A Positive can-do, will-do, flexible attitude;
Possess a second language such as French, Spanish, Mandarin etc.
