Our fast-growing Residential Interior Design team is excited to invite a talented and creative design professional to join us as a Senior Interior Designer. 


The chosen individual will be responsible for overseeing schematic design, design development, and project management for some of our boutique condominium, custom  residential, and healthcare projects. Based out of our Toronto office, the individual will be expected to manage all project related tasks, client meetings, and contractor coordination while working directly with the Design Director and collaborating with fellow studio members, consultants, and artisans.


The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of new ideas and innovative design directions within our Interior Design Team. 


Our design focuses include: high-end boutique residential houses and condominiums,culturally informed and distinct healthcare projects, and product design.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Design Director to execute projects from concept to construction.
  • Lead the project independently and manage junior/ intermediate members of the team.
  • Create inspiring and unique design concepts based on client needs, site conditions, and a strong understanding of HPA design vision and language.
  • Present your ideas efficiently and coherently through hand/computer sketching, floor layouts, finishes selection, and details.
  • Develop compelling visual stories, inspiration boards and renders of spaces.
  • Develop and constantly master construction detailing and documentation skills as well as refine and improve internal drawing standards.
  • Provide leadership to your project team and execute knowledge in project management, budgets, schedules and architectural standards.
  • Collaborate with Design Director on initiating new design strategies and projects

Qualifications

  • Architecture or Interior Design degree, accredited 4yr+ program
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in related areas of architecture and interior design with experience on high-end residential design and condominium projects. Experience in healthcare is an asset.
  • A strong design sensibility and understanding of architectural spaces and concepts.
  • The ability to think in volumes; not only in surfaces.
  • Strong visual/ verbal communication skills with the ability to sketch and draw ideas effortlessly.
  • Proven proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch UP and Adobe Creative Suite (as a minimum).
  • Extensive knowledge and active interest in keeping up with the latest products and materials in the design, art, and architectural world.
  • Proven knowledge of working drawings, construction, millwork details, and building codes.
  • Experience in managing a team and demonstrating excellent personal time management.
