On Thursday, March 26, Slate magazine put on a pretty great show: a panel of top talent discussing today's definition of good design. The event took place at the Museum of Arts and Design on Columbus Circle in New York City. Though surprisingly sparsely attended, it featured a who’s who of New York media. Jacob Weisberg, editor of Slate, introduced the panel, which included graphic designer Paula Scher of Pentagram, interior designer Jonathan Adler, and architect Ahmad Sardar-Afkhami. Canadian designer Terence Cooke certainly has patience. It's been 8 years since he first had the idea for his Fruity Bowl silicone fruit-bowl concept. But in 2009, Cooke partnered with Toronto manufacturer Joy de Vivre to bring his bowl to the masses.
