Bring out the bubbly! Now through January 6, design a mini modern chair from champagne corks and enter for your chance to win prizes worth up to $1,000 at Design Within Reach.
- Step 1: Create a chair using only the foil, cap, cage, cork, and label from no more than two bottles of champagne, sparkling wine, or sparkling cider. The chair can be your own original design or a likeness of a chair offered in DWR’s assortment.
- Step 2: Snap a photo of your chair using a sheet of white paper as your background, ideally in natural light. (Zoom in so your entire background is white.) Make sure your image is crips, clear and shows off your chair’s details.
- Step 3: Upload a photo your chair here between November 7, 2022, and January 6, 2023, or post the photo of your chair to Instagram. (Please read the Entry Requirements to learn how to submit your chair via Instagram.)
For each champagne chair entry, MillerKnoll Foundation will donate $50 (up to $25,000 total) to Slow Factory, a nonprofit climate innovation hub working to address environmental justice issues.
Through design programs such as Landfills as Museums and Waste Design Challenge, Slow Factory creates solutions that utilize waste as a resource, building community power through open education and regenerative design.
All winning chairs will be featured on dwr.com.
