For this exhibition, Superhouse – “a Brooklyn-based platform and nomadic gallery founded in 2019 by Stephen Markos to promote historical, contemporary and emerging art furniture and design” – asked galleries, dealers and collectors from around the world to consign important pieces from the two transformative decades of Italian design history that were the 1960s and ’70s. Spanning the Space Age to the Radical movement, works on view include seating, tables, lighting and objects rarely seen outside a museum setting or private collection. Working with Shanghai-based designer Duyi Han, Superhouse rendered the over 30 museum-quality works collected in an innovative 3D experience.

Different Tendencies is a phrase used by design legend Andrea Branzi to describe the varied influences on designers that era. While many gallery shows have underscored the historical importance of this time period, Superhouse aims to create a new way of looking at these works through a virtual medium that is only recently gaining traction.

All works will be available for sale through Superhouse.
