Be part of the most thought-provoking conversations in London, as the RA hosts a meeting of great minds in art, architecture, literature, design, film and music, for ten days of electric debate and discussion.

The RA has a long history of lively debate. It was here that some of the ideas that shaped the course of British art were thrashed out, from Reynolds’s classical ideals to Constable’s then-radical insistence on painting from nature.

Today’s conversations have moved forward into challenging and provoking new territories as artists and creators confront the big questions of our age. As we celebrate our 250th anniversary and the launch of our new cultural campus in the heart of London, we welcome an inspiring line-up of innovators in diverse fields to explore current issues and reveal how they think and create. With headline speakers including musician and artist Goldie, artistic director of English National Ballet Tamara Rojo, artist and designer Es Devlin, Waterstones Children’s Laureate Lauren Child, Royal Academician Gilbert and George RA and Man Booker Prize-winning novelist Howard Jacobson, events will range from interviews and panel discussions to family workshops – all taking place in the spectacular setting of our new Benjamin West Lecture Theatre and Clore Learning Centre.

Join us for this festival of creative thinking and prepare for intellectual sparks to fly as the power of ideas takes over the New Royal Academy of Arts.
