As part of DesignTO, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura has collaborated with Studio Zaven and MUSE Factory of Projects to present this solo show. Studio Zaven – namely Enrica Cavarzan (Castelfranco Veneto, 1977) and Marco Zavagno (Trieste, 1977) – has always been driven by a deep sense of investigation in any given field they take on.
As trained and talented product and graphic designers, their world easily switches from bi-dimensional to tri-dimensional, as a flawless stream of ideas, being the second a natural consequence of the first. The dialogue between them is a constant inspiration, a close exchange that we can retrace in this precious solo-show, where modularity is the narrative expedient in order to tell their story. Geometry in all its undefined declinations could be retraced via a series of works – realized in different materials – which shines light on a solid attitude towards design as a concept itself. The space at IIC Toronto had been a source of inspiration for displaying a variety of works, from grids to lamps, able to pass the over-all way of a solid profession and a distinguished methodology of work.
