Galerie56 is thrilled to present HEAVYMETAL—the newest exhibition put forth by the unique, avant-garde platform established to celebrate the cultural intersection of art, architecture, and design. Curated by founder and architect LeeF.Mindel, the exhibition is a compelling exploration of artworks created exclusively from a single material—metal. It examines the ways in which metal has been utilized in different design applications and scales across the 20th century and beyond.
Curated by architect Lee F. Mindel, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the material mechanics and meaning behind the work of design heavyweights such as Tony Duquette, Margaret Evangeline, Norman Foster, Gio Ponti, Jean Prouvé, Hechizoo, Josef Hoffman, Poul Kjaerholm, and more, along with displaying the metal chargers from the iconic Four Seasons at the Seagram Building.
