IDS keynote speaker Frida Escobedo, in front of her Serpentine Pavilion

The theme of this year’s Interior Design Show in Toronto is “IDS 20/20: Design Your Future.” It will bring together “global minds, leading designers, makers, changers, shapers and dreamers of today who are creating the new worlds of tomorrow.” The fair features exhibitors focused on residential interiors as well as stimulating installations, like Reset Home (by Hummingbird Hill Homes, VFA Architecture + Design and Victoria Taylor Landscape Architect); it is also co-located with IDS Contract, which is dedicated to the workplace, healthcare, retail and hospitality sectors as well as public sectors like education and government. This year’s keynote speakers include Mexico City architect Frida Escobedo and Berlin-based, Burkina Faso-born Francis Kéré.
