With textiles as substrate, this symposium at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation explores how new lighting technologies can become part of architectural design practice as a means of supporting more resilient ways of living.
The interplay between light and materials is fundamental to the way we understand and appreciate the built environment. Textile and architectural design practices share the common aim to find ways by which to understand and design the articulation of natural and artificial lighting so as to enhance the perception and quality of lived space. By inviting a broad interdisciplinary array of speakers from architecture, textiles and lighting design, this seminar aims to facilitate new interdisciplinary dialogues needed to facilitate such new practices.
