With thousands of beautiful spaces built for travel and living, Sonder is transforming the future of hospitality. Each Sonder is purposefully selected, designed and maintained – customized to reflect the vibe of its neighborhood. Whether your stay is two days, two months or two years, in a studio or a six-bedroom, Sonder ensures a unique, yet consistent experience. And with 24/7 contactless service, professional cleanings that exceed CDC recommendations, and over 200 other quality standards, we’re taking stay further for guests all around the world.

Sonder started in 2014, and now has thousands of spaces in cities across the globe. The Architect position is one of the most impactful and strategic roles within Sonder Milan.

This person is key for both supporting our supply growth and delivering amazing experience to our valued guests in the city. The Architect will have an active collaboration with the General Manager and Real Estate team to drive the selection of units in line with the company’s quality standards, also by assisting communication between the company and the owners of the leased assets. In parallel, their professional advice is key to check the regulatory compliance of our units and to manage relationships with FF&E suppliers.

At Sonder You Will:

  • Support the General Manager to identify the best Real Estate opportunities, including building conversion / renovation
  • Work closely with the General Manager to develop and implement a growth acquisition plan, driving the initial due diligence for new deals in order to determine units size and mix and to make a layout plan proposal
  • Check regulatory compliance, collaborating with third-party consultants, including licensing and safety obligations in order to understand costs associated with a deal
  • Support in setting up the accommodations for customers, in order to meet the deadlines set for the new units (e.g. drive discussions/ negotiations with FF&E suppliers, scheduling of maintenance of the systems)
  • Make contacts and managing relationships with suppliers and companies specialized in the construction sector and logistics
  • Assist in the communication between the company and the owners of the leased assets.
  • Use local real estate knowledge and a network of contacts in Milan to source developers and real estate owners with suitable development opportunities where the Sonder business model can operate and create value.

What We Look For:

  • You’re an experienced architect, and have made your mark as a recognized and well-established architecture projects professional in your market
  • Expert-level experience in regulation both for hotel and multifamilies, including renovation and hospitality licensing
  • You have built a powerful FF&E network and know-how
  • You are decisive and have the entrepreneurial drive to support crafting and implementing a strategic plan for property acquisition

  • You have the ability to analyze real estate from a strategic point of view
  • English proficiency is required

We also have great benefits to make your life easier so you can focus on what you’re best at:
