As a Gensler  Senior Architect in the Residential Practice Area, it’s your job to lead a team to deliver unparalleled residential and mixed-use projects. Leverage your industry expertise, design abilities, and technical acumen to drive projects from concept through construction.  You are a seasoned architect and recognized expert in high-profile, design driven projects and you can lead a team of highly motivated architects and designers.   

What You Will Do 

  • Lead the Technical effort of projects and ensure overall technical quality of work for a range of residential project types in a variety of settings, including high-rise, mixed-use, permanent supportive housing, student-oriented, and senior living 
  • Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges 
  • Oversee technical aspects of projects to be sure they are in concert with project scope, design, budget, client goals, consultant coordination and core requirements 
  • Collaborate with other technical leaders across the office, region, and firm to ensure the firm’s technical standards, guidelines, and best practices are being applied 
  • Lead communication between the project team, clients, contractors, consultants, and building & planning department officials 
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs 
  • Assume mentoring of the next generation of leadership by inspiring, empowering, and leading by example 

Your Qualifications 

  • Must be a Registered Architect 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture 
  • 15+ years of project experience in an architectural practice with ample residential experience, especially in wood frame multi-family construction 
  • LEED accreditation preferred 
  • Proven performance in directing the delivery and construction process across all phases 
  • Proven sensibility to the design process and ability to interpret and develop creative and technically proficient solutions to design challenges 
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills 
  • Knowledge of and comfort using Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office a plus 
  • Expert knowledge of building codes, residential accessibility codes & standards, building construction, and building systems
