Orlando Health is looking for an Architectural Design Senior Project Manager to join its team in Orlando, USA.

As an Architectural Design Senior Project Manager, your responsibilities will focus on the initial stages of the project inception, programming and design process. This will include coordination of pre-development due diligence, feasibility reviews, programming and departmental test fits, development of standards and guidelines, architectural design reviews, and conducting post occupancy evaluations and research. This exciting and challenging position will integrate all aspects of project pre-planning and design management to enhance Orlando Health’s unique brand architecture while integrating state of the art technology, sustainability and resiliency strategies.

Education/training:

Bachelor’s degree in building construction, architecture, engineering. Advanced degree in architecture or engineering is preferred.

Licensure/certification:

Certification/licensure of AIA, NCIDQ or PE required.

Experience:

  • Ten plus years relevant work experience in healthcare industries including architecture.
  • Candidates with healthcare design experience highly preferred.

Essential functions:

  • Reports to the senior director, planning and design and has responsibility for special project assignments, concept design development and research initiatives as assigned.
  • Responsible for the development of corporate standards for architecture, signage and wayfinding, corporate branding and assists with the placement and special requirements of medical equipment and FFE for the Orlando Health system.
  • Responsible for reviewing plans developed by the facility development project implementation team to ensure conformance with Orlando Health corporate design standards.
  • Responsible for developing and establishing sustainable initiatives established on evidence base practices.
  • Evaluates, selects and applies standard architectural/design/engineering/code compliance considerations, procedures and standards.
  • Conducts reviews of design drawings submitted by architect/engineers/interior designers/medical equipment planners and advises them of requirements and final review decisions.
  • Evaluate and recommend design and engineering consultants for each project.
  • Oversee design, implementation and certification of life safety and life support systems impacting design.
  • Interact with local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Contributes to the successful regulatory approvals from agencies having jurisdictions for all projects assigned.
  • Works closely with Orlando Health supply chain sourcing team to ensure alignment with group purchasing program opportunities and other corporate bulk purchasing agreements.
  • Meet with hospital executive directors, administration and department heads as necessary for project success.
  • Develop and manage relationships with leadership personnel and ensure results are achieved and customer requirements are met.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and development of guidelines associated with service line project typology, layout, design and alignment with industry best practices.
  • Evaluates value engineering proposals and makes recommendations based on performance and OH quality standards.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
