Kearns Mancini Architects are currently seeking a Mid-level Architectural Technologist/Intern Architect in the Architectural Discipline with experience in preparing contract documents for a wide variety of building types. The candidate must be proficient in Revit 2018, AutoCAD and possess knowledge of the Ontario Building Code as well as construction methods.

Qualifications include:

  • University Degree or Equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Minimum 2 years Canadian experience in Architecture Practice
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tight deadlines for multiple projects.
  • High proficiency in English is a must.
  • Experience coordinating projects with civil, structural and MEP disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of building science, construction details and building codes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications a must
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic & team player
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong time management skills
  • Familiarity with different construction systems and detailing.
  • Must have valid work permit/permission to work in Canada

Role

Under the direction and supervision of the Project Architect, the selected candidate will:

  • Review construction progress, attend site meetings and prepare site documentation.
  • As prime consultant coordinate structural, civil, mechanical and electrical engineers.
  •  Manage communications and relationships with clients and external consultants.

Duties include:

  • Assist in the development of architectural designs
  • Analyze building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements and other technical documents and reports
  • Prepare manual and Revit working drawings, specifications, cost estimates and listings of quantities of material from conceptual drawings and instructions
  •  Prepare contract and bidding documents
  • Be involved in all phases of project development; Schematic Design, Design Development, Working Drawings (including specifications) and Contract Administration.
  • Carrying out the completion a project from design development, permit/tender documentation to construction administration.
  • Be able to work independently and/on multiple projects at a time.
  • Coordinate projects with other Consultants, Engineers and Authorities having Jurisdiction.
  • Mentoring Junior staff members.o  Working on multiple projects with internal team members and consultants from design development to construction completion.

Candidates must also have a thorough knowledge of building systems and detailing, with the ability to work independently, developing and coordinating contract documents and document checking.
