The BIM Manager is a multifaceted role focusing on Digital Design technical support while leading the introduction, implementation and setup of REVITfor Yabu Pushelberg (YP), developing the company’s digital footprint. The BIM Manager, will also assist in ensuring that the quality of drawing standards and resources are met and maintained with a clear understanding of the firm’s goals and expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • assist in the production and implementation of YP REVIT and AutoCAD standards; work directly with outsource companies for production and maintenance of standards
  • work with Design Teams to ensure efficient REVIT workflow with attention to project set-up, model audits, model coordination, ongoing support and project completion
  • coordinate the expansion of existing REVIT content and detail libraries
  • create parametric families for projects to ensure design intent is met
  • identify REVIT learning practices (new and existing) and assess opportunities to improve content and delivery
  • guide and support Design Teams through the development of standard content, templates, tools and training
  • assist in the exploration and research of software and hardware
  • embrace existing standards and best practices and have the ability to analyze them and provide solutions for optimal workflow
  • provide ongoing technical support to the Design Teams in both studios (Toronto and New York) on various projects by providing day-to-day guidance and mentoring to optimize REVIT features and follow project modeling standards
  • respond to helpdesk tickets
  • continue to grow expertise through professional development and research opportunities
  • report to Studio Leadership on status of office systems and standards and provide guidance and expertise to ensure alignment with YP’s strategic goals
  • some travel as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent
  • minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in BIM workflow, including: technology support, set-up, production and coordination
  • experience in the interior design field an asset
  • expert knowledge of an proven practical background in Autodesk REVIT and related BIM software
  • solid understanding of legacy CAD applications and practices, particularly AutoCAD
  • required skill with design applications such as: 3D Max, Dynamo, Grasshopper, Rhino, Solidworks, Sketch-up, Navisworks, Adobe Creative Suite etc.
  • experience in 3D design and multi-discipline coordination with an ability to manage models and facilitate data exchange
  • articulate communicator with an ability to convey BIM concepts to all levels
  • proven communication, presentation skills and excellent user interaction skills
  • reliable, flexible, responsive and positive work ethic
  • ability to excercise judgement and discretion and to set priorities and manage competing demands
  • ability to provide ongoing education and support to REVIT Design Teams
  • excellent problem analysis and resolution skills
