What are they looking for?

Turner Fleischer are looking for a passionate Environmental Graphic Designer to join their Studio in the Wayfinding team. The selected candidate will work on projects with the Wayfinding team with a focus on Environmental Graphic Design. The ideal candidate will have an excellent eye for detail, typography and strong graphic design sensibilities along with being goal oriented. You have an ability to work in collaboration with clients, consultants and team members across a multi-disciplinary studio. You are experienced at taking design visions and seeing them through to built form.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Support designing wayfinding, placemaking, and environmental design solutions.
  • Coordinate 3D visualizations, production drawings, presentation decks, tender documentation, fabrication details, message schedules, and location plans.
  • Collaborate and support the preparation of client presentations throughout a project’s lifecycle.
  • Participate in site assessments and engagement activities.
  • Apply an understanding of strong design sensibilities across materials, finishes, and typography.
  • Collaborate with the team to transform conceptual ideas into spatial realities.

Profile of the ideal candidate:

You have:

  • A degree/diploma from an accredited institution in Graphics Design or Environmental Design or similar degree program.
  • 1-3 years of experience in environmental graphic design, wayfinding, and signage projects.
  • Good working knowledge of applicable accessibility codes and municipal by-laws.
  • NCDIQ, RGD, or SEGD credentials are considered a bonus.

You are:

  • Knowledgeable of architectural plans, sections and elevations.
  • A skilled communicator with an ability to develop strong working relationships across multi-disciplinary teams (graphic designers, architects and interior designers).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, MS office, 3D modeling software, and experience with Revit is a bonus.
