Heintges is currently seeking a Facade Architect/Engineer with 7+ years of experience in the design and construction of the building envelope.

The Facade Architect/Engineer will work closely with senior staff in the development, detailing, and analysis of a variety of facade and waterproofing systems while interfacing directly with the client, external design team, consultants, and construction teams during all project phases. Training will be provided as needed to supplement each candidate’s previous expertise to achieve full expertise, concept through construction, and advancement.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management for multiples projects simultaneously
  • Designing, engineering, and detailing of exterior wall systems
  • Correspondence with clients and project team members
  • Leading discussions at client meetings
  • Modeling of envelope performance and analysis of results
  • Developing office technical resources
  • Mentoring of technical staff
  • Writing specifications
  • Reviewing contractor proposal and shop drawings
  • Witnessing laboratory performance testing
  • Project site inspections and reports
  • Periodic domestic and/or international travel for factory inspections and testing

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of work experience focused on building enclosure at a professional architecture or engineering firm, or as an application engineer / derivative designer / facade designer for industry
  • Knowledge of enclosure design over a range of system types
  • Excellent communication, drawing, writing, and interpersonal skills
  • Design and detail oriented, patient, and flexible
  • Confident communicating through both hand sketches and digital modeling
  • Interest in working in the field, observing project installation on construction sites
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D visualization software
  • Professional degree in Architecture or Engineering
  • Professional licensure preferred
  • Authorization to work in U.S.
