And Objects is looking for a Furniture and Product Designer to join its growing London team. The successful candidate will work on furniture, lighting and home accessories, as well as custom pieces for the commercial and residential interior design sector.
Working within the And Objects team, the designer will be responsible for designing, specifying and managing the manufacture of highly detailed, made to order and small batch furniture and lighting designers. For this role, candidates should clearly show a competent knowledge of manufacturing techniques along with a passion for great design and attention to detail. The ability to engage in design development using a mixture of hand drawn sketches, 2D line drawings, and 3D models is also highly desirable.
- Researching and generating new concepts for furniture, lighting and home accessories collection
- Overseeing the development of custom or one-off furniture and lighting designs for both commercial and residential clients
- Liaising with and visiting existing manufacturers to drive the development of new designs from concept through prototyping and on to production
- Overseeing quality control of production and client orders
- Sourcing new UK and international suppliers and manufacturers
- Taking full ownership of designs through every stage while working closely with the lead designer
- Rigorous attention to detail
- Experience in product design and high end residential interior sector, ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Photoshop
