The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating and implementing forward-thinking graphics for marketing materials, special events, public programs, social media, printed museum materials, and publication design, all while maintaining and expanding the Museum’s visual identity in close collaboration with the Director of Graphic Design. The individual in this position works closely with the rest of the team to develop creative solutions for a wide range of projects.

Requirements:

  • BFA in graphic design or a related field
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in graphic design or a related field
  • Advanced skillset in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe After Effects
  • Dynamic use of typography, grids, layout, color, shape, and imagery in 2-D, 3-D, and motion graphics
  • Ability to work on multiple projets in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail while being a creative thinker and having the ability to work both within and without guidelines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to take direction, to receive feedback, and to execute tasks accordingly
  • Ability to adapt to ever-changing project types and requirements
  • Up to date on current trends in design, art, culture, and technology
  • Fantastic organizational skills are a must
  • Passion for art is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating and developing a wide range of digital and print materials, including those for fundraising, membership, special events, marketing, education programs, visitor services, and retail, among others
  • Work on marketing materials for 6–8 exhibitions per year, including advertising and motion graphics for social media, as well as campaign development
  • Explore, maintain, and design the Museum’s wayfinding
  • Conduct ongoing research in connection with the Museum’s visual identity, in collaboration with the Director of Graphic Design
  • Other duties, as assigned
