Elizabeth Roberts Architects is seeking Interior Designers to join our team of architects and interior designers in New York.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 or as many as 10+ years of design experience. This person will be working directly with the Principal, Managing Director, and Director of Interior Design. Ideal candidates must have strong design, leadership, project management, and presentation skills. Great opportunity for a highly motivated and well-rounded designer seeking responsibility with challenging projects in a creative team work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Developing or assisting in developing interior design and furniture concepts from initial meeting through construction.
  • Designing and drafting overall space and furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, electrical, construction & millwork details
  • Preparing design presentations for clients and project teams
  • Managing projects, in collaboration with other team members, including preparing proposals to clients, project budgets, timelines, and reports.
  • Acting or assisting in acting as liaison between the design firm, vendors, and subcontractors including visits to project sites and vendor workrooms to oversee fabrication and construction
  • Preparing or assisting in the preparation of lighting, electrical, finishes, and furniture plans and schedules
  • Preparing or assisting in the preparation of proposals and invoices.
  • Requesting samples, sample sourcing, vendors and subcontractors correspondence

Requirements

  • Project management experience
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while exhibiting initiative in management of all intra-office priorities
  • Extensive knowledge of material, hardware, and furniture sources, showrooms and retail stores
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3d modeling, and hand sketching
  • A personality that thrives in a very close-knit team setting; excellent interpersonal skills and customer service sensibilities
  • Exceptional level of attention to detail and a mastery of organizational and time management skills
  • Minimum education: Bachelor of interior design or related field
