HLW is currently seeking an Interior Designer to join their New York office.
The Interior Designer is responsible for supporting the design efforts of the senior designer, project architect and project manager and toward solving client requirements while keeping in-line with project scope, schedule and fee. Responsibilities may cover design and/or technical aspects of the project. Ensuring compliance with the firm’s quality assurance program is essential. The Intermediate Designer becomes thoroughly knowledgeable of the requirements of the assigned project and uses this knowledge in working to ensure compliance with the firm’s contractual obligations.
Job Responsibilities/Requirements
- Degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution.
- Registered or actively pursuing to be either US Registered Architect or NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer (preferred).
- 5-10 or more years of professional design experience.
- LEED accreditation (preferred).
- Excellent communication, graphic, and verbal presentation skills.
- Proficient in computer graphics software including but not limited to AutoCAD / Revit, 3-D Modelling Software, MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative suite.
- Thorough knowledge of building and ADA codes.
- Thorough knowledge of the current LEED rating system and/or other sustainable initiatives.
- Working knowledge of construction and furniture costs in order to design to established budgets.
- Working knowledge of coordinating and integrating MEP systems into a project.
- Working knowledge of material and furniture sourcing, costs, bid process, applicability.
