Shean Architects is looking for a full-time Intermediate Architectural Technologist with approx. 6 years professional experience to join their growing office. The Intermediate Architectural Technologist will join Shean Architects in their multi-faceted and dynamic architecture studio, with a focus on modern spaces formed by natural elements. Shean practices across Ontario and beyond.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the production of technical drawings and documents, both independently and in a team environment (working closely with the principal in charge and the lead technologist)
• Coordinate with prime consultants throughout the design and construction process
• Prepare base building drawings for as-built conditions
• Prepare and submit applications for approval to authorities having jurisdiction
• Ability to balance multiple projects

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Architectural Technology
• Min. 6+ years in custom luxury residential, commercial drawings
• Exceptional understanding of architectural detailing and ability to solve complex material relationships
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator/InDesign
• Must be proficient in building envelope detailing, as well as familiarity with cold climate construction and building science
• Must have capability to interpret local codes and municipal regulations (OBC, Zoning Bylaws, etc)
• Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication; strong interpersonal skills
• Drivers License to visit job sites on occasion
