Your Opportunity

We are currently searching for a Landscape Architectural Technician Landscape Designer with project management experience to join our company and work within our Landscape Design and Landscape Construction Sales division. This position is a great opportunity for a creative individual with interests in landscape design, horticulture, construction detailing, project management and sales to join our growing design-build team. The individual must have good visual communication skills and the ability to work individually and collectively in a team environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Meetings with clients (residential, commercial and public projects.)
  • Prepare conceptual designs and graphics for presentation purposes.
  • Prepare construction quotations based off designs and site visits.
  • Conduct pre-design site visits and record technical information.
  • Develop detailed designs and construction documents.
  • Prepare cost estimates.
  • Internal coordination with design team and construction staff.
  • Attend meetings and coordinate work with construction crews, clients, consultants, sub-consultants and subcontractors
  • Field layout, reviews and inspections of work.
  • Assist landscape architects with contract administration
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and other marketing materials

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2013, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Sketch-Up, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud and other graphics software
  • Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills
  • Good file management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborative environment
  • Experience in preparing contract documents and working drawings
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Membership or ability to become a member with the APALA and/or CSLA is an asset but not required

Education And Experience

  • College diploma in Landscape Architectural Technology / Architectural Technology / Civil Engineering Technology. (University degree in design related field an asset but not required)
  • 3-5 years of office experience and project management experience
  • Construction knowledge and contract administration experience

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
