SITU was founded in 2005, in Brooklyn, New York, by four friends studying architecture at the Cooper Union. We’ve shaped our practice out of the multi-disciplinary style of our education, and have grown through clients who value a progressive approach to problem-solving. We now employ a staff of 30+ people.
Our process is client-specific, adaptive and driven by a diversity of deep knowledge, untethered from any stylistic or formal agenda. This allows us to work out of bounds, using new tools of architecture to generate unique outcomes.
Our practice is composed of three divisions—Studio, Research and Fabrication—that work collaboratively while providing individual services. This keeps prototyping, research and development, and hands-on craft elemental to our creative process.
Because we are a unique and multi-disciplinary practice, we are seeking a unique and multi-disciplinary teammate. The primary role of the position is to champion SITU’s abilities, communication, productivity, and efficiency by administrating and improving our office environments and systems. This includes a range of bookkeeping, HR, and payroll responsibilities in conjunction with basic reception and administrative assistance.
We offer great benefits, reasonable working hours, and the opportunity to support creative, world-changing projects in a studio environment. Benefits include fully paid health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, company holidays, two weeks paid vacation, maternity/paternity leave, supplemented CitiBike memberships, and personal access to our fabrication facilities.
We don’t know you yet, but we imagine that you have a broad set of interests and skills, and that you wouldn’t be happy focusing on just one of them. You’ve been in the working world for at least a couple years and are looking for a company to get excited about.
You are passionate about good work, fanatical about organization, and energized by new challenges. You have strong computer and software skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly and cleanly. Bookkeeping software and spreadsheet formulas are already part of your vocabulary. You can fluidly re-prioritize and manage multiple projects, and practice discretion when handling sensitive, confidential information.
Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org letting us know about yourself, what excites you about the opportunity, and what you can bring to the position. Attach a resume and include 3 references. If you have work samples or documents that will enrich our understanding of you and your experience, please include those too. No phone calls please.
