Adjaye Associates is looking for a Project Team Member in our New York office interested in working on a broad range of scales from private houses, retail and exhibitions to cultural centers, civic landmarks, residential towers, and community masterplans. The successful candidate will share in our devotion for social impact and will be committed to developing high-quality work in a self-motivated but collaborative manner, with a strong desire to continually learn.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with and report daily to Project Lead and/or Project Architect
  • Drafting comprehensive drawing sets from concept through construction documents
  • Generate detailed 3D models to develop all aspects throughout the changing design process
  • Produce professional‐level photorealistic renderings
  • Build physical models throughout all project phases using a combination of hand and machine
  • Provide research assistance for topics such as site context or material and system selections
  • Assist project architects in dimensional surveys of existing site/building conditions
  • Communicate with consultants and clients to implement their goals in project deliverables
  • Maintain files including drawings, documents, specifications, correspondences and all other project materials in an organized manner following protocols
  • Ensure all deliverables produced follow standards of the firm and direction from the project leader or principal
  • Develop design and presentation documents in support of various project phases

Essential Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English
    (spoken and written)
  • Significant contributions to an extremely well documented and coordinated drawing set
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, V-Ray, Grasshopper, and 3ds Max
  • Excellent Adobe Suite skills
  • Understanding of materials, construction techniques, and zoning/building codes
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple or fast-paced projects

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
  • 2-4 years of experience in several phases of the design process: conceptual, detail and design development, construction documents, and construction administration with site supervision
  • Experience working in a leading architecture firm
  • Currently (or in the process of) residing in New York
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
