Next Architecture is looking for a savvy steward — a Registered Architect with a clear vision of the future of the industry to represent its Edmonton studio with integrity and purpose.
Being a diverse and inclusive workplace, Next Architecture welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of any other defining factor. All candidates are reviewed and considered on the quality of the portfolio submission, in addition to their experience and education. Next Architecture is a team of highly competent generalists who collaborate on award winning innovative projects – no specialists or solo contributors, please.
Apply with evidence you meet the following mandatory pre-qualification criteria:
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
- 3-5+ years of Canadian experience since being registered, with a mix of Commercial, Light Industrial, Civic / Institutional, Heritage, Multi-Family, and Mixed-Use projects.
- Currently registered with Alberta Association of Architects (AAA), or proof of imminent reciprocity.
- Demonstrated ability to work hands-on, using collaborative digital workflows (3D deliverables within Revit, and BIM360).
In addition, the ideal candidate will have the ability to:
- Learn, adopt, and adapt quickly.
- Use lean principles and critical thinking that challenges established practices to solve problems, drive action and expedite appropriate results.
- Initiate and foster relationships with private and public sector clients, including business and full proposal development.
- Manage $50K-$50M projects from commencement to completion, including scope, timeline, and budget, with support from principals.
- Fluently speak the technical language required to successfully navigate projects through the various requirements set out by clients, collaborators, applicable codes, and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Assist clients and colleagues in a transition away from 2D content/deliverables and toward 3D and digital fabrication (dFAB).
- Plan, organize, prioritize time, and communicate effectively.
Bonus points:
- LEED Accredited Professional or similar.
- WELL Accredited Professional.
- Safety Codes Officer (SCO) Certification, or interest in attaining this.
- Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP) designation, or interest in obtaining this.
Next Architecture deliberately seeks out colleagues that share its purpose and values, and that possess the necessary aptitude, attitude, and capacity for success. Please demonstrate why that’s you, and what you are going to bring to Next.
