Two new patterns in Tarkett’s family of sustainable carpet tiles, Blockade and Soundblock, were created to work together. Fashion, accessories and textile designer Jhane Barnes based the motifs on mathematical formulas she first created for a shirt in one of her menswear collections. The equations result in seemingly random and unpredictable patterns that are in reality quite structured.

Blockade, a geometric with irregular colour placements and shifting tonality, is available in a range of 12 muted hues including seven neutrals; five banding accents are also offered in the palette.

The small-scale linear elements of Soundblock are repeated to a degree that the pattern appears larger to introduce a compelling visual effect in expansive and open spaces. Soundblock’s eight available colourways match ones found with Blockade enabling the two patterns to be used together.

Both carpets are available in Powerbond rolls and in three sizes of modular tile.
