Designed for Teknion by London-based PearsonLloyd, the Essa task chair derives its name from the word essence, selected to capture its pared-down scale and pure, sculptural shape. Referencing a classic club chair, Essa stresses simplicity, softness and a rich materiality – in essence, the chair looks as comfortable as it is. Given the move towards an office with a “softer edge,” the need for a light, less technical task chair has emerged and Essa fits the bill.

Combining elegance with ergonomics, Essa provides just the right amount of support through curves and contours rather than multiple adjustment mechanisms. Promoting natural shifts in position, the seat is ideal for both mobile workers and active work settings.

Modern, refined and receptive, the sweeping profile of Essa’s back echos the fluid lines of molded armrests; visual and tactile richness are added through the fabric that fully covers the seat and back. In scale and shape, materials and details, Essa is a pleasure to look at, to touch and to use.

Three colourways are offered for the base – Atrium White, Clay and Bladkstone – and each is applied to look “fully dipped,” achieving a nearly seamless finish and unified form overall. Essa is available with or without arms.
