For her Fabric of Space collection of textiles, Suzanne Tick looked to the ever-expanding universe for inspiration — the five resulting patterns represent the intersection of the matrices of time, matter and energy.

Utilizing innovative weaving and coating techniques and made from renewable and recycled fibres, the collection is bursting with vivid colours and celestial motifs that riff on both the vibrational qualities of sound and light and the geological layers of the earth.

Spectral Array

Spectral Array is a multi-colour, large-scale pattern that nods to the new ways we communicate and listen and how our mental health is tied to our emotional experience of space. Based on the science of mapping the amplitude of light and sound waves emitted during a physical event, the collage of chenille and slub yarns is suitable for upholstery use, bleach-cleanable with a high-UV indoor lightfast performance and offered in eight colourways.

Graviton

Comprised of 100 per cent cationic and disperse recycled polyester, Graviton is a textural multipurpose textile. The innovative fibre and yarn spinning technology used produces a differentiated surface and, once cross-dyed, the darker and light components seem to randomly disappear and reappear in the weave structure. The chunky fabric is suitable for upholstery, wrapped walls, panels and screens and is offered in 16 colourways.

Welded

The multilayered Welded is a coated woven textile combining scratch and polyester fibres. Woven into a ground cloth with a colour-and-weave effect that alternates between light and dark, the contrasting colours of yarns work together to create a dimensional effect. Afterwards, the ground cloth is coated with a clear thermoplastic elastomer (or TPE), which provides an ink- and stain-resistant barrier. Wipeable and bleach-cleanable, the upholstery fabric is available in 11 colourways.

With a speckled surface referencing a starry night sky, Emergent is comprised of equal parts wool-blend and cotton and combines renewable and recycled yarns to create a new hybrid material. Needle punching is used on the boucle cotton loops, allowing them to emerge through the surface of the smooth, heathered wool-blend face, giving the upholstery fabric a unique and tactile surface; offered in 11 colourways.

A new take on a classic jacquard twill, Formwork was informed by stair trails and constellations and is defined by a structural iridescence that is the result of a scientific approach to colour. The linear weave structure, enhanced by subtly organic patterning, can be used on upholstery, wrapped walls, panels and screens. Available in 12 colourways.
