4 Lapel chairs around Lapel dining table on grass

Ligne Roset’s Lapel by Busetti Garuti Redaelli is named for the collar of a jacket, which inspired the folded back original design for the indoor/outdoor chair. Structure is in carbon-colored aluminum and backrest woven from synthetic, rattan-like cord – a complex process since a taut, perfect finish is required.

“The main idea for Lapel was to mix fashion and design. During our research, we realized that the lapel of a coat or shirt, which wraps the neck, looked suitable to be transferred and adapted to an armchair that, likewise, formally embraces the body,” say designers Busetti Garuti Redaelli. “The final result has been this eye-catching shape of arms and backrest. This element brings great personality and presence to make “Lapel” stand out among outdoor furnishings on the market. Furthermore, this shape allows an easy grip to lift and move the chair.”

The Lapel chair is available now, as well as the Lapel outdoor dining table with structure finished in the same carbon-colored lacquer and top made from slats of natural solid teak.

Ligne Roset will also soon expand the Lapel family, introducing a pared-down version as a dining chair as well as an armchair; these new styles are expected to arrive in North America later in 2021 and are available for pre-order.
