Roche Bobois‘ infinitely customizable Mah Jong seating was designed by Hans Hopfer in 1971. For all intents and purposes, though, it’s as timeless as they come.

The low-to-the-ground components are some of the brand’s best-sellers, and therefore immediately recognizable by their iconic status. The design is constantly being “reupholstered” by various designers, from Missoni to Kenzo to Jean Paul Gaultier.

Each brightly-coloured cushion is made by hand in a dedicated workshop. Created to provide freedom of form and function, the Man Jong sofa’s only limit is the imagination.
