For Poltrona Frau’s 2020 collection, Italian designer Roberto Lazzeroni has reimagined his Martha armchair design – complete with its shapely form and saddle-leather seat shell – into a rocking chair that successfully straddles the line between casual and elegant.

Made from solid ash, the chair’s new bowed easel-like base expresses quality craftsmanship and is available with a wenge or mocha finish. The rocker’s generous seat transitions smoothly into gracefully curved armrests, while the padded backrest appears to hover within the frame thanks to a concealed fixture element.

Colour and material can be combined in myriad ways, with the external saddle-leather shell offered in six colourways and the internal upholstery (including the removable seat cover) can be one of seventeen different fabric and leather options. Visible stitching accents emphasize the overall refinement and attention to detail.
