An exploration of how space is used and how design elements can be modified to specific needs within a space led Japanese designer Keiji Ashizawa to devise the Rail desk for Danish brand Menu.

Part personal desk, part counter, part shelf, the multipurpose Rail can be hung on the wall at any height and combines a precise and minimal powder-coated steel bracket inspired by staircase handrail with a smooth wooden surface (natural or stained oak).

With its rich tactile contrast and visual lightness Rail makes a practical yet handsome addition to any environment, from the corner of a living room or a bedroom to a hallway or anywhere else a convenient surface is required.
