Relax Tube Lights by YDOL

Part of German manufacturer YDOL’s Relax collection of integratable acoustic solutions, the Tube light by Austrian architect and designer Nina Mair is a seamless merger of illumination and sound absorption.

The large cylindrical fixture is made from recycled aluminum wrapped in an absorbing layer of Merino wool and embedded with a dimmable LED reflector (from lighting manufacturer Bartenbach) with integrated colour temperature control that ranges from warm to cool.

The continuous and variable dimming and colour temperature can be controlled via an accompanying mobile app. Assembled without the use of glue, the entire piece can be separated and recycled at end of life.

Offered in three sizes (40-, 60- and 80-centimetres in length), YDOL’s Relax Tube light can be suspended singly or in groupings, depending on light and acoustic requirements. Up to 36 colourways are available that range from neutral greys to more vibrant purples, blues and reds.
