Part of the Cornell in Rome Fall 2019 Lecture Series, this talk features Alfonso Femia, who graduated from the University of Genoa – School of Architecture in 1992 and has been a teacher of architectural design at Kent State University in Florence and at the universities of Genoa and Ferrara. Femie and his firm, Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia (AF517), have won numerous international competitions and his work is published in architecture magazines worldwide.

In 2015, Femia also founded 500 x 100, a video communication platform that deals with the theme of the city. His research on that subject led him to collaborate with major design companies including Castaldi Lighting, iGuzzini, Londonart, PoltronaFrau, Casalgrande Padana, Martinelli Luce, Xilo 1930, and Staygreen.
