The Modular Home Design Challenge 2021 is the first in a series of annual competitions focusing on the concept of modular architecture. As one of the most versatile forms of design, modular architecture offers creative, efficient, and sustainable solutions when designing homes and living spaces. Operating either as a building block that is part of an integrated system, or as a stand-alone entity, modular construction breaks from traditional built projects and allows novel designs to be realized.

For this competition, participants are tasked with designing a modular home that can be constructed in any form or layout. The modular home can be set in a location of their choice, either rural, urban, or suburban. The jury will be looking for design concepts that show a critical analysis of what a home is and could be in an increasingly interconnected and technology-driven world.

Competition is open to all. No professional qualification is required. Design proposals can be developed individually or by teams (4 team members maximum). All information submitted by participants must be in English.
