Atelier Ternier, the renowned Belgian carpentry workshop is organising the exhibition “Crafting Connections,” that will feature the work of independent design practices in Europe. The exhibition displays both new and existing pieces, from home furniture to small editions, offering a glimpse into the themes of collective creativity, innovative design and self production. All of the participants, including AETHER/MASS, Paulineplusluis and Bautier, share a common methodology in designing, producing and refining everyday life objects. Atelier Ternier curated the show with the belief that the balance between form, material and construction conveys a poetic edge to functionality.
A wide selection of oak furniture will be presented as well as steelworks in the shape of seating, shelves and more expressive shapes. There will be an equal presence of cabinetry and seatings made in full aluminium. With a rather serene selection, many colourful furnishings will be showcased with the support of equally colourful floor tapestry works. Lighting design objects will punctuate the showroom with selected artworks resonating with the spirit of crafting connections.
