AZURE WXY Body Lawson The Peninsula Hunts Point Thumbnail

This lecture by Claire Weisz, founding partner of WXY, will showcase how engagement is critical at every scale, whether designing a bench or urban spaces and policies. Through recent work from WXY’s portfolio focusing on climate, people, and place, Weisz will explain the value of design methods that create opportunities for continued engagement. Rather than using engagement to secure approval for preconceived designs, these case studies will highlight how engagement shapes the design process.

The New York City architecture, urban design, and planning firm WXY is globally recognized for its community-centred approach. WXY acts at every scale: from the intimacy of an interior to the complexity of a city. From structures such as SeaGlass at The Battery, the Spring Street Salt Shed and Sanitation Garage, and the Rockaway Boardwalk to precedent-setting planning and urban design, WXY’s work reflects Weisz’s belief in the importance of public space and dialogue in creating a regenerative, equitable and inclusive world.
