Berlin studio Geckeler Michels designed the MAP modular lighting for Lodes to push the boundaries of traditional modular lighting solutions.
A ceiling and wall lighting system, MAP modular lighting from Lodes is a striking example of a compelling contemporary design aesthetic being enhanced by advanced lighting performance.
An adaptable collection that suits a wide range of interior settings, the MAP modular lighting is comprised of a decorative tape that stretches between various modules, connecting them to each other and the power source and offering limitless installation possibilities.

MAP modular lighting from Lodes accommodates freely arranged lighting points and lines on both ceilings and walls, creating patterns that range from geometrical shapes to zigzagging lines to randomly designed patterns. While the lighting puck modules provide fixed anchor points, the flexible tape wrap around them with flexibility and grace, creating an intriguing “interplay of tension and fluidity.”
Each circular module of the MAP modular lighting from Lodes contains an LED board with tunable white technology, which allows users to select the optimal colour temperature for their space. The flexible tape runs through the body of each module and is equipped with special conductors to distribute power throughout the system starting from the primary module.
The MAP modular lighting from Lodes is available with a reel of table that measures approximately 8-metres long and 5-centimetres wide and two versions are offered: the TRIAC, which supports up to five modules and the DALI, which supports up to eight. An indirect wall application can also be added to directs and diffuses illumination along the wall to create a visual effect that mirrors a ceiling-mounted fixture. Lighting modules can be customized with optional accessories, including a honeycomb filter, a thin mesh that is applied directly to the lens to improve comfort and reduce glare.
Available in three colours – matte black, matte champagne and natural brown – the MAP modular lighting from Lodes is as much a decorative feature as it is lighting installation, shaping spaces through illumination.
