The Better Design Award (BDA) 2025 is an international design competition that recognizes projects and companies that showcase design excellence and innovation on a global scale. BDA focuses on three main key areas: empowering industrial change, creating a better life and leading future development. This year, a new fourth category focusing on AI and Robotics has also been introduced. BDA aims to identify outstanding design-driven innovations across technology, product development, application scenarios and industrial systems. With a focus on modernization and the advancement of high-quality productivity, the award celebrates how design empowers innovation and enhances everyday life.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Foresight – Alignment with global industrial shifts and social needs.
  • Industrialization – Potential for real-world application and technological transformation.
  • People-Centric Design – Focus on sustainability, human well-being, cultural relevance and international design language.

Eligibility

Companies, design agencies, designers and colleges, individuals or teams from any country and region in the world are eligible to participate in Better Design Award 2025. Both existing products and original concepts are welcome.

Prizes

The total prize pool is RMB 4.2 million Yuan (pre-tax). All prizes are subject to tax compliance under Chinese law. Winners must submit required documents promptly to receive their awards, which are distributed within six months following the award ceremony.
