Lemay is hiring an Intermediate Urban Planner with 5+ years of experience. You’ll be based out of their office in Montréal, Canada with the flexibility to work remotely. This is an opportunity for Lemay’s Intermediate Urban Planner to actively contribute to their transdisciplinary approach across a diversity of projects, carried out primarily in Quebec, but also in the rest of Canada and internationally. Lemay is looking for someone who is skilled at communicating and documenting complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct studies and analyses on urban, regional, and transportation issues.
  • Perform site and regulatory analyses with other disciplines (e.g., architecture, landscape, branding, sustainability).
  • Undertake environmental characterization studies.
  • Develop project dossiers and planning justifications.
  • Draft service offers, reports, planning tools (e.g., PPU, PIIA).
  • Contribute to the design and planning of urban and transportation projects.
  • Collaborate on graphic materials (maps, figures, presentations) with the graphics team.
  • Support project implementation through follow-ups and presentations to municipal authorities.
  • Manage technical, administrative, and financial aspects of projects per internal procedures.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Urban Planning
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des urbanistes du Québec, or eligible for membership
  • 5+ years of experience in urban and regulatory planning
  • Strong knowledge of Quebec’s planning and regulatory framework under the Act respecting land use planning and development (RSQ, c. A-19.1)
  • Proficiency in GIS mapping software (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.), Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite (InDesign and Illustrator)
  • Knowledge of AI-assisted modelling tools is an asset
  • Good stress management and ability to handle multiple files simultaneously
  • Autonomy and proactivity in finding solutions
  • Ease of communication with various stakeholders
  • French proficiency required; English, an asset
