Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) is hiring a Design Assistant with 2 years of architectural studies completed. You’ll be based out of their office in Barcelona, Spain, working on-site. This is an opportunity for BIG‘s Design Assistant to strengthen their design, communication, technical, and conceptual skills, while actively contributing to the ongoing development of real-world projects.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to international and local projects.
  • Participate in the development of innovative architectural designs.
  • Help translate creative ideas into practical, buildable solutions.
  • Integrate sustainable strategies into design processes.
  • Apply advanced digital tools for design, modeling, and visualization.
  • Strengthen your ability to present and communicate design ideas effectively.
  • Support clear and effective project communication.
  • Incorporate cultural awareness and sensitivity into design solutions.
  • Broaden your understanding of architecture in a global context.
  • Engage in an open studio culture that values feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Develop your skills by refining and enhancing project contributions.

Qualifications

  • Have completed at least 2 years of architectural studies.
  • Have proven knowledge and experience with at least three of the following programs: AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, V-Ray, Rhino, Revit, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Demonstrate a flexible and open mindset, with a willingness to embrace new ways of working.
  • Show initiative and the ability to respond proactively to guidance or instructions.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Be currently enrolled as a student and not expected to graduate during the internship period.
  • Be available for a full-time internship with BIG for a minimum duration of 6 months.
