Diamond Schmitt is hiring a Specifications Coordinator with 5+ years of experience. You’ll be based out of their office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is an opportunity to gain more experience in the development of technical documentation including construction specifications. Diamond Schmitt is looking for someone that has well-rounded architectural experience, verbal and written communication skills, very good organizational abilities, and the capacity to multitask effectively in a busy office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with project teams and external specification writers in the development of project specific project manuals
  • Research and document materials, products, and construction methods
  • Develop detailed architectural specifications for projects
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards
  • Coordinate with various disciplines and integrate their requirements
  • Assist in preparing bid documents and review contractor bids
  • Communicate with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors
  • Keep specifications up to date with code changes and industry standards
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues

Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology or Architectural Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in the development of technical documentation including construction specifications
  • Designation as a Registered Specification Writer or Certified Specification Practitioner is an advantage
