Honeycomb shelving system by Heller

Blok by Woak

Blok by Woak

The brutalist architecture of New Belgrade’s “Blokovi” residential neighbourhoods inspired the Blok bookshelf, designed by Andrea Steidl
for Woak, which is at once monumental and minimalist. Blending pure
geometric forms with clean lines, the shelving unit features thick horizontal
planks of wood (walnut, oak or ash) that are accented by graphic circular
inserts and supported by cylindrical uprights, a combination that lends it a presence reminiscent of children’s stacking blocks. The number of shelves
in the Blok shelving system can be customized to suit a variety of needs.

Honeycomb by Heller

Honeycomb shelving system by Heller

When Bill Curry first designed Honeycomb in 1970, it was made of bent walnut-laminated plywood. Heller has resurrected the modular shelving system from its archive and reconceptualized it for modern-day living — in 100 per cent recycled polypropylene with Worry Free Plastics technology. Heavily influenced by the California Space Age and aerospace technology — as well as the natural beauty of the hexagonal structures that bees make to store honey — Honeycomb now adds sustainability cred to its enduring form. The unit is available in black and white and four configurations; tempered glass shelf inserts maximize its geometry and space-saving efficiency.

Sequence shelving system by BD Barcelona

Embodying “variation, progression and momentum,” the Sequence shelving system by Snøhetta for BD Barcelona recasts an everyday storage solution into an impressive architectural gesture. The flat-pack system consists of six modular units, each varying in scale and proportion, that serve not only as display but also as room dividers. Constructed with an Arpa HPL core (a blend of paper layers and thermo setting resins) and Hydro recycled aluminum connectors, the precision-engineered wall-mount or freestanding units are offered in five curated colours (Terracotta Red, Silver-Grey, Greyish-Green, Mustard Yellow and Dark Blue), and in both vertical and horizontal orientations.
