Diamond Schmitt is hiring a Senior Healthcare Interior Designer with 10 to 15+ years of experience. You’ll be based out of their office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is an opportunity to work closely with Principals, Associates, Interior Designers and Architects in a collaborative studio environment to contribute design ideas and provide direction to project teams. Diamond Schmitt is looking for someone with an excellent understanding of interior architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of interior design projects that transcend traditional views of healthcare environments
  • Understand, develop, and execute all phases of a design project including proposals, contracts, budgeting, concept, planning, design, documentation, specifications, finishes and materials selection, furniture specifications, construction, QAQC, and closeout
  • Participate in resource allocation for interior design projects
  • Continually strive for improved efficiencies while reducing drawing and specification errors and omissions
  • Work with teams to develop interior finishes and specifications
  • Coordinate all FF&E and interior architectural plans, finishes and products with the client and project consultants as necessary
  • Manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously with minimal or no supervision
  • Be responsible for project budget management
  • Prepare promotional material and participate in Business Development activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture
  • Minimum 10-15 years’ experience as an Interior Designer
  • ARIDO/IDC certification
  • High proficiency in Revit
  • Knowledge of 3D Modeling software, Sketch Up, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign graphic software an asset
  • Variety of project work experience in both the commercial and residential sectors
  • BCIN, LEED, and/or Well certification an asset
  • Ability to oversee, direct, and mentor project teams with minimal oversight
  • Knowledge of design resources and evidence of creative sourcing/products, and creative problem solving
  • Proven client management skills and experience
  • Team player that thrives in a collaborative studio
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to balance multiple project demands
