The Unlimited sofa was devised by Milan-based designer Franceso Rota for Desalto as a complete family of modular upholstered elements that can be combined in nearly endless ways.
Starting with a square-shaped volume, the Unlimited sofa can be arranged to create seating compositions that include straight runs, L-shaped curves, chaise lounges, daybeds, armchairs and standalone pouffes, and each module can be paired with an extended backrest that wraps the sitter in extra comfort.
The individual elements are mounted on oval-shaped metal sleds that give the seat an illusion of floating in space. This visual effect of lightness complements the anchoring metal feet, which are available in a variety of powder-coated colours.
Differing foam densities in the squared and sculptural seating modules of the Unlimited sofa have been carefully researched, studied and tested to ensure maximum comfort and an inviting feel.
Originally designed in 2024, the Unlimited sofa from Desalto was expanded recently with the addition of three new corner modules: 90-degree, 45-degree inner and 45-degree outer. These introductions expand the system’s overall compositional possibilities, allowing for more fluid and articulated arrangements.
Suitable for use both at home and in high-traffic commercial environments like waiting areas, lounges and contract spaces, the Unlimited sofa expresses the high-level of craftsmanship Desalto is known, with tailored ends and raised seams.
To facilitate reuse or recycling of materials, the upholstery covers (offered in a wide range of fabrics and colours) are removable and all modules are easy to disassemble.
